STATE BANK OF INDIA RECRUITMENT SCANDLE

An applicant who had only completed his Diploma in Mechanical Engineering was pursued by the Bank to appear for the various eligibility tests conducted by State Bank of India for its employees. The applicant cleared all the tests namely 1. Written Test 2. Personal Interview 3. Medical Examination and finally attented the 21 days training session. He served from 22/03/2008 to 29/08/2008 and was Terminated.

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FATE OF THE APPLICANT ?

The minimum educational qualifications required for the post of Customer Relations Associate is graduation.

When a candidate applies for a certain vacancy I guess it is the duty of the recruiters to reject his application if he is not eligible. In case the recruiter does not perform his duty properly why should the candidate suffer for the recruitment officers mistake ?

On 29 August 2008 The State Bank of India realises that the employed candidate is in the service of the bank from 22/03/2008 on probation for 6 months. The bank can terminate his services without assigning any reasons just by giving one month notice commanding him not to report for duties from 1st October 2008.

The information about this power of the bank is mentioned in detail in the appointment letter provided to the candidate by the State bank of India.

A newly appointed employee of State Bank of India is handed over a Termination letter because he is not a graduate as on 01/04/2007 as stated in the advertisement. The candidate has till date served for more than 5 months starting from 22/03/2008 to 29/08/2008 to complete the probation period of 6 months.

I wonder if the candidate is not a graduate how come he was appointed and allowed to work for more than 5 months. The candidate's application should have been rejected in the very first place if he was not a graduate. He should not have been called for the Interview. He should not have been called for the Medical test. He should not have been allowed to attend the 21 days training programme. He could have been stopped from joining on the very first day of his probation. But he was not stopped, May I know why ?

THE CANDIDATE SHOULD BE APPOINTED AGAIN.
